What the directory does
Every business in Upfront tells customers who owns it. Independent. Family-owned. Employee-owned. Public company-owned. Private equity owned. The point is disclosure, not ideology.
Launch starts with Phoenix-area veterinary clinics because that category has seen meaningful consolidation while customers still care deeply about local trust and continuity.
How it stays credible
- Upfront is not anti-private-equity. PE-owned businesses can be listed if they openly disclose it.
- Verification is a real process, not a rubber stamp or a trust badge sold to the highest bidder.
- The directory is free to search, free to list, and intentionally avoids paid placements.
